Description: A virtual cache in which you will visit the grounds of an old railroad station, that has been used as the headquarters for the Historical Society of the Tonawandas since the early 1970's.
The Historical Society of the Tonawandas is located on a small triangular piece of property bounded by Main, Grove and Fletcher Streets. Plenty of parking is avaiable on Main St. or Grove St.
To score a find for this cache, you must email the answers to the questions listed below. Please contact me via the gpsgames.org emailer, by clicking on my username on the top of this cache page, and then clicking on "email this player" in my profile.
1) Identify the range (in years) that the building was used as a railroad station (Blue and yellow sign).
2) Identify how many sides of the 4-sided monument on the Northern end of the property have lettered inscriptions.
3) Complete the inscription on the above mentioned monument: "In memory of Soldiers, Sailors and Marines of_________"
4) Identify the color that the small WWI era artillery piece on the southern end of the property is painted.
The Historical Society of the Tonawandas is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, and is well worth a visit. Admission is free.
