Description: The word "Tonawanda" comes from the Iroquois Indians, meaning "swift running waters". This 4-stage multi-cache will take you along the banks of the mighty Niagara River, which forms the border of the City of Tonawanda on the North side.
All parts have nearby parking lots, so you may opt to drive to each spot, bring along your bikes, or walk the whole way. Start to finish is about one mile. The first three parts are micros, hidden in various spots throughout Nia-wanda Park. The final is a small 3"x6" rectangular Rubbermaid container. It may fit smaller travel bugs.
The park closes at 10PM. Leashed dogs are only allowed from 6AM-9AM from May 1-September 31, but any time during October to April. |
