Description:
This is a multi-cache mostly along trails in Pennsylvania Game Lands with some great views, though the views are best when leaves are off the trees.
The theme of the cache is state names. If you trade, try to bring something that has the name of a state or another country on it. I’ve really enjoyed geocaching when I travel. It’s a great way to see the sights in other areas, including cities. It’s also a way to find out about interesting places that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise. I started the cache with something from states in which I’ve been geocaching. Pins, magnets or keychains from Alaska, California, Idaho, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas are in the cache. Other states and 2 countries have been added.
During spring gobbler season in May hunters can hunt from ½ hour before sunrise until Noon. Please check the hunting seasons before you go into the game lands. Hunters during Spring gobbler season wear a minimum of 100 total square inches of fluorescent orange on the head and/or a safety band on chest and back which can be seen 360 degrees. Area hunters have asked that you respect their gobbler season by not looking for the cache in May, since they wear camo during this season. From Nov 15 to Dec 15, the minimum is 250 total square inches on your head and chest and back. Hunting is not allowed on Sundays.
Mountain bikes are not allowed on these trails. You are looking for 35 mm film canisters for the first stages of this cache. The cache itself is a small ammo box. Please replace all cache containers hidden as you found them. Parking in the lots may be hard during the winter months. |
