Description:
Now that I have your attention...
This cache is actually just a nice walk of about 2 miles round trip through State Game Lands 265. There is no "Tornado of Skulls" to be found. The cache got its name because it was the first thing that popped into my head.
The cache itself is in the shadow of Woodcock Hill (or maybe on it). According to one site:
"Woodcock Hill is a mountain summit in Fayette County in the state of Pennsylvania (PA). Woodcock Hill climbs to 2,530 feet (771.14 meters) above sea level".
I also found a bit of history about a man that upset his wagon on Woodcock Hill in 1835 and died. There are no markers or anything to signify that this event took place.
On this hunt there are no hidden cemeteries or ruins. It's just an old fashion walk in the woods. If that doesn't appeal to you skip this cache. Maybe someone else will place a cache in this somewhat neglected SGL. Maybe this will be the only one. Who knows....
Parking is large lot right off of RT 40 either on the left if your coming down from the Summit or on the right if your coming up from Maryland. There is an unactivated Geocoin as a FTF. There is also a bunch of those Oak's Dollar Coins that expire in Dec. Those are first come first serve.
During hunting season wear the appropriate amount of orange. Watch for typical Fayette county wildlife (snakes, bears, Jimbats, Moomen, Kwazy Skwerl's, LJ and her evil company of Hell Hounds...etc). Use common sense and have fun.
Parking is right off of RT 40. It's your typical SGL parking lot.
