Description:
This cache is located in Veterans Memorial Regional Park in Woodbridge.
Veterans Park packs an amazing variety into a fairly small area. It has a greater variety of sports facilities than I’ve ever seen in this size park……baseball diamonds, soccer/football fields, basketball and volleyball courts, a skateboard ramp, and a rec center with a pool. In addition, there are playgrounds and picnic pavilions, and a one-mile nature trail winds through the woods along the edge of Occoquan Bay. In season, you’ll find flowers all over the place.
You’ll also find a surprising variety of wildlife in the park, including bald eagles, heron, geese and ducks, beavers, raccoons, turtles, and the occasional snake. The park is open until sunset daily.
The cache is located just off the nature trail. There is convenient parking near the skateboard ramp.
