Putting a palm type screen protector on the eMap would be a waste of time. The palm screen potector (WriteRights I think they are called) are to help protect the digitizer that is on top of the glass that makes up the Palm screen. This just helps keep it from getting scratched and also gives you a better feedback when you write (it really does feel more like writing on paper). Downside, is you just put a layer of plastic between you and the screen so it makes the display less bright.
As for the eMap, these are purley just covers for the screen, and wouldn't provide any real type of protection from water (I guess it might prevent scratches, but you aren't using a stylus type device on the screen normally).
