Actually, in their defense, I thought their posts were largely clueful. One poster (who shall remain unnamed) was a bit clueless and seemed a bit militant. The rest seemed to be reserving judgement although the party-line seemed to be leaking through a bit. I think it won't be too hard to keep the peace with Sierra club.
