I just placed a small geocache at: N33 41.444 W117 30.810 (WGS-84)
Difficulty: 1 (Due to steep mountain terrain, it's practically on the trail) Terrain: 3 (A 3-mile, intermediate-level hike. Bring water!)
Cache contents: An amateur radio study guide, Linux Operating System CD Pack, A music CD, cassette, GPS3+ Owners Manual and some other assorted stuff! Location: Holy Jim Trail, Cleveland National Forest, Orange County CA.
Directions/Comments:
From Live Oak Canyon Road, drive up Trabuco Creek (a high-clearance vehicle is needed) to the parking lot past the Holy Jim Fire Station. Take the dirt road to the left and walk past the houses to the trailhead. Follow the trail to the stash. A USFS Wilderness Adventure Pass is required. An interesting side-note: at N33 41.594 W117 30.833 the trail forks. If you bear right and follow the creek, you'll find the Holy Jim Waterfall (N33 41.659 W117 30.959) in a about 15 minutes.
