Re: [gpsstash] Fw: "Cache of Fun" GeoCoded-CyberStash

I tend to agree Dave....

I think the 'time' may be right to expand now.... who says it has to be even months or years before we can enhance the idea.
I think your idea of codes and links via cyberspace is excellent. THe physical stashes will always be there, Mike, but this now gives another attractin to the game for those who want more than a set of coordinates and a stash at the end. A very limited experience. I honestly feel that Dave is on the RIGHT track here, and I intend fully supporting it via my new-look web site REAALY soon. We need expansive thinking and new ideas. Let's not halter this thing...it wants to fly !!! Dave is allowing it to.

I will be buying one of the new release Silva GPS Multi-Navigators when they are released at the end of June, and will get to and crank up some intricate Aussie stashes.

Keep it up Dave !!!

Well, you certainly make some good points, but,, until you can solve the
urban stash problem with the same old game, I think stash hunting is
limited.

Finding the codeword can be made as difficult as you want. I thought of
stamping a code on a manhole cover, light pole, mailbox, etc. Finding a
codeword can be just as hard as finding any stash anywhere else. Of course
you may take home multiple words and now know which one is right. You can
also fail, like any other stash and have to go back another day.

I think variety is the spice of life and the more different types of stashes
we can dream up the better. Its up to the hunter whether they want to give
one a try or not.

The contents of a cyberstash are like any other stash, you never know what
you may find there. Just because something is in the data domain doesn't
mean it isn't valuable. I could be the code number on a 100minute long
distance phone card.

I'm not concerned with people cheating on the codeword. Geocoded stashes are
still valuable even if the finder isn't on the Internet. So far my first two
are placed at some of the most entertaining places in my area. Just going
there is incredibly rewarding, much more so than some woodsy spot up in the
hills. I can guarantee you if you go to these spots you will be rewarded,
codeword or not.

Just try it!! You'll Like it!!

Dave...
