I can tell you, from experience here in New England, that snow is both a blessing and a curse ...
Depends on when you get to the stash and on how you view "helpfull hints".
Often, if you are the first to the cache after a snowfall, it is a *lot* harder to find. So *many* places to look ... more than without snow since the snow covers *everything* Even the places you wouldn't have bothered to look without it.
If you're *not* the first then ... hey! Looks like footprints in the snow ... right to the cache!!
