It's not being rude, it's merely indicating that there is indeed a need for
our own newsgroup. Geocaching was invented on sci.geo.satellite-nav, so
until a reasonable alternative presents itself, I see no problem posting
there.

Actually, if we could set up a "alt.geocaching" newsgroup (by whatever
name), that would be a fine stop-gap measure until a rec.* group could be
formed. As a matter of fact, we may have to show sufficient traffic on an
"alt" group before we have any hope of getting a rec.* group formed.
