The problem I have with this kind of message is that is has nothing to do with Geocaching. It is a comment about a comment. Please get with the program here and keep it on Geocaching. Do you people really need me to spell it out? I believe most of us are somewhat intelligent people with a penchant for arguing. I as the List Owner, weather YOU like it or not, do have the final say as to weather something is on or off topic. When I do, it is not open for discussion on the list, if you have a problem then bring it to me off list in a private e-mail. Due to a large amount of bullshit on this list I have been forced to become much more of a list COP than I wish too. Believe me when I say I really don't want to. The alternative means that we all loose a potentially valuable resource. I invite you all to tell me what you think I should do OFF THE LIST. Should I let the list disintegrate into a useless free for all for arguing about semi geocaching related issues. Or do I maintain a status quo and attempt to keep this ship from sinking? James

This sounds pretty ON-Topic to me, i.e. the right to place a cache is pretty fundamental to the game, isn't it?
The problem with placing a cache is you don't have the right to litter, so technically geocaching is not legal. [Think back to my "is a cache trash" thread on the sci-geo-sat-nav usenet.] Some of the caches I've been to are pre-trashed, such as Firestone http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=120 which is in an abandoned car or my own http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=371 which has photos here:
