This certainly works. The "dog tag" reduces the physical cache to a minimum
and the utility pole eliminates the introduction of a physical geocache
altogether.

You could eliminate the need for any man-made object by picking a spot where
you could ask a question about the surroundings (eg., "How many boulders are
in the clearing to the north?" or "What's the bearing to the big pine
tree?").

What I'm trying is a photograph that requires the successful hunter to find
the exact spot where the photo was taken. It might be nice if other
geocachers took their own photos from the same spot, to watch the site
change over time or to prove they got there.
