I would guess the majority of the waypoints will end up on private property. I'm not too keen on this idea - I don't want to deal with property issues or with property owners, so I'd prefer to see an effort made to locate these points on publicly accessible lands. But judging from the other messages in this forum, this preference/opinion is in the minority.
Another option would be to use existing caches as Geodashing waypoints. This might result in a unfair advantage to East and West (especially West!) coast residents. But forming/joining a team might make up for this disadvantage.
